Kate Chastain From 'Below Deck' Has Special Ties to the Space Shuttle Program

Being from the Space Coast of Florida, Kate Chastain from Below Deck is a big fan of NASA’s Space Shuttle program.

Chastain recently tracked a recent launch with the first attempt being scrubbed due to inclement weather. “It’s been thunderstorms all day here on @flaspacecoast Anyone want to bet me $50 that this #CrewDragon launch gets canceled?” she tweeted on the first attempt on May 27.

Eventually, astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken affectionately referred to simply as “Bob and Dave” on social media, had liftoff. Chastain shared the experience on social media, plus revealed a few fun facts about her family ties to the program.

The Space Shuttle program is a family affair

Chastain shared that the family connection began with her grandfather. “My grandfather being the Air Force Colonel/doctor was in charge of early space medicine,” she shared on her Instagram story. She also posted the comment along with a photo of a monkey holding a newspaper.

“Enos, the space monkey attacked my grandfather during a checkup,” she added. Her father then took the family baton as a diver.

“My dad worked on the NASA dive team,” she shared along with a photo. “Take your daughter to work day was fun.”

Maybe Chastain should carry on the tradition? “So basically I feel like I’m the number one candidate for space stewardess when they make space travel open to the public,” she added.

She also shared fun facts (and watched the launch)

Chastain also shared some fun facts about the program. The Space Coast area code is 321 is “in honor of 3-2-1 blast off!” Also, “Gravity has been played in outer space — it was the wake up music for the astronauts on Space Shuttle Endeavor in 2007.”

Chastain’s new home is close enough to the launchpad so she could see the spectators waiting for the launch. She shared a video of the gathering crowds as she nervously sipped wine from her porch. She was concerned the second attempt would be abandoned because of rain.

However, blue skies emerged and Bob and Doug went to space. She joked on Twitter about how her Bumble options diminished as a result too. “Bob and Doug went to space. There goes my bumble options….but I’m happy for them. I guess,” she tweeted.

If Bumble doesn’t work out, she can also reconnect with old boyfriends

Chastain recently shared a new Bravo project she’d been working on called Ghosted. The show premise is for Chastain to reconnect with previous romances who she ghosted. She appears to be ready to find the perfect person and has embarked upon a dating experiment (with cameras). “I believe in karma, and now that I’m back out in the dating world, I don’t want to be ghosted,” she said. “So I think, before I move forward with my right swipes, I need to reconcile my left swipes.”

The episode shows that she ghosted (or blew off) a man because he used the word, “giggled” which apparently was a turn off for Chastain. The man had everything too. A foreign car repair shop, he was funny … but the date went south. She said they went to dinner and he returned from the restroom and said, “And he drops his statement, ‘You know when I was in the bathroom I thought about what you said earlier and it made me giggle.’”

“Would I be able to have sex with a guy who giggles?” she ponders in the clip. “He chose that word, so I’m just reassessing my decision-making process.”

'90 Day Fiance': Babygirl Lisa Thinks She's Receiving Threats From Fans Because Usman Is 'Very Good Looking'

90 Day Fiance star Babygirl Lisa Hamme hasn’t exactly been a fan favorite over the last few weeks. Some of the show’s viewers believe she’s been acting “abusive” toward Usman. When she admitted to calling her husband the N-word, some fans felt she shouldn’t be included in the show any longer.

Babygirl Lisa Hamme is waiting for the ’90 Day Fiance’ haters to ‘just subside’

“That word was used out of context. It was used out of stupidity. My husband accepted my apology but haters don’t. They want to ride it out to no end. Other very famous people that do entertainment, they said just let it die down. Let the haters just subside. And the ones who are riding it are the ones who are trying to become popular like you. That is their goal. And by any means, they’re going to do it,” she said in an interview with The Domenick Nati Show on May 22.

Lisa continued: “So I’m just going to ignore those haters. I’ve acknowledged it. I’ve made a public apology on another podcast interview and it was posted to my IG. It was seen by all my fans but it’s still not good enough.”

Babygirl Lisa Hamme doesn’t think she’s getting hate from ’90 Day Fiance’ fans because of how she treats Usman

Lisa had been receiving lots of negative comments from fans on her Instagram, even “death threats.” But she feels she’s getting them because Usman is “very good looking.” In response, Babygirl Lisa recently turned off the comments on her page.

“I’ve been receiving a lot of death threats and a lot of hate due to fans who are completely obsessed over a show. I guess it’s true in quarantine they continuously watch it over and over. I’m a 53-year-old woman married to a 31-year-old man so, you know, there’s a lot of hate there because my husband is very good looking,” she said.

Lisa is also currently involved in a legal dispute with a blogger named Amber who’s trying to get her kicked off the show.

“My life has become endangered, my child’s life has become endangered because she wants to be a blogger. She point-blank said in an interview yesterday she will not stop doing what she’s doing to me. So with that being said, I’ll state no more,” she said about the situation.

BGT's David Walliams is unrecognisable as he dons disguise to prank Simon Cowell

David Walliams was up to his old tricks again on Britain’s Got Talent after he pranked Simon Cowell by pretending to be his security guard.

In an unseen clip, donned in a dashing beard, shades, a security cap and a prosthetic face mask, David protected his pal from the crowds during the BGT Manchester auditions.

As the music-mogul greeted fans as he walked down to take his seat, his security guard went to extra lengths to protect the judge.

David even carried a shield, although we are not sure what he was protecting himself from…

The comedian also put out his arm to stop audience members from touching Simon.

And just as Simon got to fellow judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, Alesha asked him: ‘Why have you got your own security?’

Ant McPartlin, who was on stage with pal Declan Donnelly went on to ask: ‘You got new security Simon?’

David then ran down to the stage as he shouted: ‘But I’m not your new security.’

He then proceeded to take off his wig and beard, as well as peeling off his face mask he added: ‘It is I, David!’

‘I would never let anyone hurt you,’ he added to Simon.

‘I felt this dark presence behind me,’ Simon said.

David continued: ‘That was me darling.’

Greg James’ wife Bella Mackie reveals heartbreaking miscarriage that triggered her mental health to ‘plummet’ – The Sun

GREG James' wife Bella Mackie has revealed she had a heartbreaking miscarriage that triggered her mental health to "plummet".

The 35-year-old – who suffers with anxiety and OCD – has opened up about feeling "terrified" over trying for another baby.

In a personal essay for The Times, Bella said after falling pregnant last year she suffered a setback with her mental health when she lost the baby.

"It was a surprise and only lasted for about three weeks; it could barely be called a miscarriage," wrote Bella.

"But even in that brief window my mental health plummeted dramatically.

"I started having constant intrusive thoughts, my OCD roared back and I couldn’t stop crying. The intensity and speed of my deterioration shocked me. And my poor husband."

Bella married Radio One Breakfast presenter in September 2018 after she popped the question.

Greg described their wedding day as "the most incredible day of my life".

Ever since her miscarriage, Bella has wondered whether she is willing to risk her mental health to have a baby.

She said: "When I was no longer pregnant, when it was all over and my mood started to creep back up to an acceptable level, the baby thought was no longer warm and fuzzy. It was terrifying."

Bella added: "The baby thought remains vague. I am still terrified of the possibility that I might slide back down the treacherous slope and end up losing my independence, or being resentful about what I’ve lost.

"I will keep mulling it over and think about what positive safeguards I can put in place if I do decide to have a baby.

"For now, at least, my life — the one I’ve worked so hard to make happy — is enough for me."

Is Disney's 'Mulan' Based On a True Story?

There are a few reasons Disney has become so popular. Over the years the company has produced countless numbers of films for its viewers and audiences.

The Lion King and Aladdin are two of the many popular films Disney has created over the past few decades. More recently, Disney has been in the spotlight for movies like Frozen and Onward. However, Mulan is considered more of a classic when it comes to the Disney enterprise.

The fictional story has become quite the hit since the movie’s initial launch. Take a look back at the rich and interesting Disney film and find out if Mulan is actually based on a true story.

What is Disney’s famous film ‘Mulan’ about?

RELATED: Is Mulan a Princess? How Disney’s Live-Action Adaptation Could Change This Character

By now, many people are familiar with Disney’s beloved film Mulan. The popular movie Mulan tells the story of a young girl and her family who live in China. The film told a narrative unlike any other that Disney has taken on in the past. It instantly gained a tremendous amount of fans and viewers.

As soon as Mulan released it entrapped its audience and viewers almost immediately. The story took place at some point during the 15th century. Mulan was living a normal average life until the Hans attacked her home.

Each family of Mulan’s community is forced to send one man to help them defend an invasion. However, Mulan’s father recently suffered an injury and is not healthy or well-enough to survive. Mulan, at the young age of 16, makes the decision to disguise herself as a man and go in her father’s place.

The famous and talented comedian and actor Eddie Murphy took on a voice role for the character Mushu. The Disney film captured Mulan’s brave journey of self-discovery and love.

When did Disney release ‘Mulan’, and how popular did the movie become?

In 1998 the animated action-packed film Mulan was officially released. The much-needed and appreciated addition of Mulan added even more diversity to the group of princesses that Disney had already established.

After the film premiered it produced around $300 million in revenue. It definitely was a monumental and landmark moment for Disney’s history. Like many of Disney’s films, the company decided to make a more modern-driven adaptation of the movie that released in 2020.

Is Disney’s ‘Mulan’ based on a true story?

RELATED: Disney’s ‘Mulan’ Delay Could Actually Work in the Movie’s Favor

There is some slight controversy on whether or not Mulan was based on a true story. Ultimately, the main character of the popular film is the result of inspiration from a folk story versus real-life history.

The origin of Mulan’s story can be traced back to between 368 and 557 AD. “The Ballad of Mulan” is the oldest version of Mulan’s story. The folksong eloquently revealed the structure and story that served as the foundation of the film.

Unlike the movie, in “The Ballad of Mulan,” Mulan pretends to be her father for much, much longer. As legend has it, Mulan waited over a decade to reveal the surprising truth in the beautiful poem.

The legend and story of the folktale of Mulan are what served as the inspiration for the popular Disney film. Even though the film is not based on reality, it is an inspiring story nonetheless.

Mulan premiered in 1998, and since then, the film has become very popular. The recent adaptation that Disney produced highlights and showcases the beauty and complexity of the story at its core. Even though the film is based upon fiction it is still an excellent and compelling story.

Scott Disick and Sofia Richie ‘have been ‘texting since split’ – The Sun

NEW exes, Scott Disick and Sofia Richie, "have been texting since their split."

The two broke up earlier this week after three years together.

A source told Us Weekly: “Scott and Sofia’s breakup is definitely a real breakup, but they have been staying in touch and texting since they split.

“Their friends think that there is a big chance they could get back together at some point.”

Before they had officially split, the two had put their relationship on hold following Scott checking into a treatment center in Colorado to deal with "past traumas," such as the death of his parents.

An insider told the outlet: “Scott and Sofia are on a break until Scott straightens himself out more.

“Scott is in an OK place right now and is trying to get better and focus on work, but he has to prove himself.”

But Sophia's issue in the relationship was apparently how Scott prioritized her.

She felt Scott valued his ex, Kourtney Kardashian, and their three children, Mason, 10, Penelope, 7, and Reign, 5, over her.

Sources also relayed the coronavirus pandemic put a strain on the couple.

They shared: “The quarantine has put a spin on things for Scott. He’s always had issues, especially with addiction, and that’s always been a concern on the Kardashians’ end and Sofia and her family’s end.

“Sofia noticed that he wasn’t doing well and gave him an ultimatum, and in the end it seemed like Scott was more focused on Kourtney and his kids than her.”

Normal People: Why was the series not filmed chronologically?

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

Normal People has been adapted from Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel of the same name. The series charts the romance between Marianne Sheridan (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell Waldron (Paul Mescal) as they progress from the last year of secondary school to university. Over this time, their relationship is a rollercoaster as they break things off before coming back together.

Why wasn’t Normal People filmed chronologically?

Over the course of Normal People, central characters Marianne and Connell go through many changes.

The series starts with the pair as teenagers in the last year of high school with Connell in the popular group while Marianne is something of an outsider.

They keep their sexual relationship a secret with Connell breaking Marianne’s heart by choosing not to take her to the Debs, their final year prom.

However, there’s a shift when they attend Trinity College in Dublin together as university students.

Suddenly, Marianne becomes the popular one as Connell withdraws into himself, feeling awkward in this new environment.

  • Normal People: Why does Marianne’s brother Alan bully her?

They continue to grow and their relationship changes throughout the story.

The one constant is their love for each other which ultimately sees them come back together time and again.

Interestingly, this intense love story wasn’t actually filmed in the order viewers watch it.

The stars of the show have opened up about how the scenes were filmed.

Speaking to media including Express.co.uk during a virtual BAFTA Q&A, they revealed all.

Director Lenny Abrahamson said there were “key scenes” which the two stars spent time on, explaining: “They became touchstones for the things that would occur, the central patterns in the relationship. You would tie those down.”

He continued: “It’s amazing how much work you have to do. With the novel, it hits you like a complete thing but as soon as you start to break it down into the process of adaptation, it feels like you have to assemble it all again, learn it from every possible angle.

“The guys have to be able to jump from one stage early in the story to three episodes later maybe across the same day. Being able to do that, you just need to know it so well at an interior level, where you don’t have to think too hard but you can step into those different phases.”

The show was directed by both Abrahamson and Hettie Macdonald in two blocks with each filming half the series.

The filming order was decided upon by the locations. For instance, all the scenes in Marianne’s house shot in one go before moving to another location.

Abrahamson said: “It’s a testament to Daisy and Paul, if you think about how much they change.”

He added: “It’s pretty amazing how they can track those phases so accurately.”

Actress Edgar-Jones said hailed the hair, make-up and costume team for helping her get into the right mindset when filming across the different periods in Marianne’s life.

She said: “You know for me physically, the clothes that you wear and the way you style yourself really make you feel different. I remember the first time wearing the school uniform and feeling very young, that really helped.

“Also, having Lenny and Hettie to guide us was really useful. We felt with Lenny, we’d always discuss the scenes and ground ourselves and check in before we were about to lift off.

“Also, having the book. It was so amazing having your character in-depth, the way your character is feeling with each scene. What I loved was the fact that there is not much dialogue. It’s very sparse, so you’re allowed […] to think the things and feel the feelings and Lenny would capture it and that’s very freeing as an actor because you don’t have to forcefully project something. You can just imagine it and think it.”

  • Normal People season 2: Will Paul Mescal return for another series?

Most TV shows and films aren’t shot in the order they are shown in.

Usually, the sequences scenes are filmed in is likely to be dependent on the availability of the locations and the cast members.

This often means the actors have to get into the right mind frame of their character for a particular character.

Also, an actor will have to carefully look at their character’s arc in the overall story when filming different scenes.

This is all the more challenging given most film and television productions are recorded in a completely different order, which can mean the ending may be one of the first things to be shot and vice-versa.

Once all of the filming has taken place, it will be down to those in the editing room to put the whole thing together and choose which takes to use and in which order – although the script is usually a good indicator of the order of a project.

Normal People airs on BBC One on Mondays at 9pm and season 1 is streaming on BBC iPlayer now

Ozark: Why did Darlene Snell really begin her romance with Wyatt Langmore?

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

Season three of Ozark saw Wyatt Langmore (played by Charlie Tahan) distancing himself from cousin Ruth (Julia Garner) after she’d confessed to murdering his father. Wyatt was left disgusted and spent time squatting in the homes of the more affluent residents of the Ozarks. However, he eventually found himself in the orbit of Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery).

Why did Darlene Snell really begin her romance with Wyatt Langmore in Ozark?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Ozark season 3

Darlene invited Wyatt to live with her after realising he had nowhere else left after shunning Ruth.

Wyatt and Darlene seemed to get along well and developed a friendship, which became something more midway through the season.

The turning point came after Wyatt defended Darlene in court during the social service hearing involving infant Zeke Mason.

Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) was trying to take Zeke away from Darlene by proving she was unfit to be a mother. However, her schemes were scuppered after Wyatt spoke out.

  • Ozark season 4 theories: Omar Navarro to move to the Ozarks

Darlene seemed to reward Wyatt by sleeping with him before it seemed the pair became an item.

She even confided to him how she killed her husband Jacob Snell (Peter Mullan) after Wyatt revealed Ruth had bumped off his dad Russ Langmore (Marc Menchaca) for the Byrdes.

Despite raising a few eyebrows among his cousins due to the age gap between the middle-aged widow and the teen, the romance appeared to have been accepted.

Express.co.uk spoke exclusively to Ozark actor Trevor Long about his thoughts on the romance between Cade and Darlene.

“I thought it was great. I thought that was such an interesting development and I heard some people were kind of upset about it.

“The shock, the age difference. I’m like, ‘Come on.’ Some people were up in arms about it like, ‘That’s disgusting.’

“To me, it was totally believable and totally interesting and totally I get it. I could see how this could develop.

“I thought they’re great together and I thought Charlie, who plays Wyatt, had a great season. A very interesting development for his character and that was exciting.”

Despite the academically-gifted Wyatt missing out on college to remain in the Ozarks, Long said the character seemed “happy”.

Long explained: “I think as messed up as it is, I think there’s some peace there. I think they really care for each other and it could be – aside from the drug cartel – a decent life for him.

“I think it’s definitely an exciting twist and I’m excited to see how it’s going to go.”

While Darlene and Wyatt did genuinely bond, there seemed to a sinister undercurrent.

Heroin queenpin Darlene could well have had ulterior motives for getting Wyatt on side. By the end of season three, she also seemed to have gained another ally in the form of Ruth.

Darlene may well have been using Wyatt ultimately to her own ends in the hopes of building up a group around her following Jacob’s demise.

Wyatt, Ruth and Zeke could all be part of Darlene’s succession plan for her heroin business.

With Wyatt and Ruth now working with her, along with the KC Mob, Darlene is a powerful force to be reckoned with.

She’s a much more powerful foe for the Byrdes, who will be struggling to contend against her.

Netflix has yet to reveal its plans for Ozark but if season four goes ahead, this shift in power with Darlene shoring up her allies could lead to lots of drama.

The 'Grey's Anatomy' Showrunner Explains the One Major Change She's Made to The Series

Grey's Anatomy doesn't want to keep repeating itself. In March, ABC executives announced the show would be ending its season early “out of an abundance of caution" for the cast and crew amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Its new finale aired on April 9, about one month ahead of schedule, capping the season off without one major element: A "shock death."

"There had been so many tragic deaths for so many years on Grey’s Anatomy that I felt like the most surprising thing I could do, repeatedly, was to not kill someone," Krista Vernoff told Us Weekly in a new interview.

“Time after time, no matter how many times I’ve done it, everyone, every time expects that the person who’s in danger or threatened in some way is going to die,” Venoff continued. "On [Grey's] everyone was so used to the shock death that they were always looking for shock death! So I felt like the more surprising thing was to bring the joy and turn up the humor and the playfulness that had, a little bit, fallen out of the show in the wake of Derek’s death. That is how I feel like Grey’s has changed a little since I came back—a lot of characters who might have been dead by now are still alive!”

Perhaps the greatest example of Vernoff's strategy was the sudden departure of Dr. Alex Karev after Justin Chambers moved on from the series back in January. Instead of killing off the beloved character, like many fans feared, Vernoff and creator Shonda Rhimes sent him to live with his former love, Izzie Stevens. This leaves room for his possible return in the future.

As for what's next for the remaining characters on Grey's Anatomy, Vernoff revealed to People that writers have resumed work via Zoom, however, she could not provide details on when filming may begin and when fans can expect season 16 to air.

Emmerdale spoilers: Faith Dingle return ‘sealed’ in huge Nate Robinson twist

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

Emmerdale’s Faith Dingle (played by Sally Dexter) left her son Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) heartbroken after he discovered she had known about his long-lost son, Nate Robinson (Jurrel Carter). After being disowned by the Dingles, Faith quickly fled her home after Cain refused to forgive her. Now, Sally Dexter, who plays Faith, has teased a return for her much-loved character.

Last year was a dramatic one for the Dingle clan after Faith realised something was up with her son Cain and his wife Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) marriage.

Fans of the ITV soap had watched Moira conduct an affair with young farmhand Nate for months, not realising who he really was.

It turned out Faith had known all along Nate was Cain’s secret son, with an ex-girlfriend named Cara (Caryll Thomas).

Faith had told Nate’s mum Cara not to contact him and thus, Cain never knew of Nate’s existence, until late last year.

  • Emmerdale spoilers: Fans baffled as they notice ‘missing’ character

Nate had come to the village to seek revenge on Cain after believing he had deliberately shut him out of his life, hence his affair with Moira.

The trio came to blows in a dangerous climax of the storyline last October, with it looking as though one of them wouldn’t make it out the clash alive.

However, they all lived to tell the tale and Nate and Cain have gradually been working on making amends for lost time but it hasn’t come without its challenges.

Cain accidentally shot Nate whilst protecting Moira in a case of mistaken identity, which has seen more trouble ahead for the family.

But, after making a full recovery, could Nate now find another way to try and repair things with Cain, by bringing Faith back to the Dales?

Sally, who plays the Emmerdale favourite, has teased the idea of returning to the drama – will she decide to do so in order to try and put the past behind her?

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, she said: ”I’ve spent more time on the phone and Zoom and all that computer contact stuff than I can remember doing before so it doesn’t seem like social isolation at all!

“It’s strange to be so physically distant though. I couldn’t say I have a regular routine other than the exercise – and watching Star Trek (the original) at 6pm – oooh I know how to live!

“But I feel like I’m quite busy! I love poetry – and have learnt the odd verse to keep the brain cells a- ticking!”

She added: “I can’t wait to start work again! And of course, I hope Emmerdale and I cross paths again – my mum would never forgive me if it didn’t!”

Cain is gradually warming to Nate, so he may decide to do something to help his dad out and take it upon himself to fix his broken relationship with Faith.

Will she believe it is time to come back and face the music after tensions have calmed down slightly?

  • Emmerdale spoilers: Cain Dingle sees blast from the past

Speaking at The Inside Soap Awards last autumn, Sally spoke to Express.co.uk shortly before her exit, explaining how things might pan out.

She explained: “Well because of the storyline, I may have to skip away from Emmerdale for a little while,

“Because what happens between me and Cain is so devastating that she can’t, I don’t know if she can stay at the moment.”

Will viewers see her back on-screen sooner than anticipated after appearing to confirm her exit isn’t a permanent one?

Emmerdale airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
