'Scream' Fans Have a Crazy Idea About Where the Next Movie Should Go

Whether fans want it or not, Scream 5 is well on its way. The movie took a major step forward recently with news that David Arquette is officially returning. The actor played Dewey Riley in all four previous Scream movies. Moreover, his casting means one-third of the series’ main trio — which also includes Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox — is now onboard.

But after three sequels — one of which serves as a quasi-reboot — and a TV series, Scream 5 needs a new angle. And some fans think they’ve figured out the best way to set the new movie apart. Better yet, the proposed concept could very well honor the late Wes Craven at the same time.

‘Scream 5’ needs to find a way to honor Wes Craven’s legacy

Scream 5 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have big shoes to fill. After all, Craven directed all four previous films. The duo’s 2019 release, horror-comedy Ready or Not, indicates they have the right idea about how to toy with genre conventions. But taking on a legacy property like Scream requires more than just a deft storytelling hand.

The franchise has been around for decades. And especially after Craven’s death in 2015, any subsequent movie needs to pay tribute to the late director and his work. So far Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett seem to be on the right track. Kevin Williamson — who wrote three of the four Scream films under Craven — will return for Scream 5 as an executive producer.

But for the fifth entry in a horror franchise, the real trick will be finding a story angle that feels fresh. Certainly, someone in a Ghostface mask will engage in a murderous rampage. Yet, the circumstances surrounding that can’t risk leaving fans of the decades-old series feeling like they’ve seen this before. Thankfully, the dedicated Scream fan base have that covered.

Fans have come up with the perfect way to bring back the original cast

One common fan theory about where Scream 5 can go is for Campbell’s Sidney Prescott to become the killer. After being the central target of four previous killing sprees, it’s plausible she would crack and grab the Ghostface mask for herself. But screenwriter Brian Lynch recently took to Twitter with an even more tantalizing notion.

Lynch’s idea is for the new film to be set in the real world. So, instead of Campbell, Arquette, and Cox playing their respective roles, they would be playing themselves. Essentially, a “real-life killer” inspired by the Scream movies takes the fate of the franchise into his or her own hands.

As Lynch points out, this opens the door for any of the series’ previous cast members to return, including Drew Barrymore. For most horror series, this idea would be too high-concept to work. But Scream has always prized itself on embracing its own self-awareness. Lynch’s idea would take that notion to the next natural step. Plus, it’s one we know Craven would love.

Wes Craven took a similar approach with ‘Wes Craven’s New Nightmare’

Without the legendary horror filmmaker around to helm Scream 5, all the series can rely on is the body of work he left behind. And it just so happens that the director applied a very similar premise to his other signature franchise.

In 1994, Craven wrote and directed Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. The seventh and final entry in A Nightmare on Elm Street stars Heather Langenkamp as herself. The actress who played Nancy Thompson in the series battled Freddy Krueger. And she winds up having to make another Elm Street film to stop Freddy from continuing his real-life rampage.

In many respects, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare feels like a spiritual predecessor to the first Scream, which Craven made just two years later. Instead of Freddy, Scream 5 could reveal Ghostface to be Campbell herself, who wants to return to her signature role. Perhaps Cox — arguably the most successful member of the original cast — will even be the opening victim.

In this scenario, Scream 5 would echo the original Scream and allow the meta-focused series to riff on Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. Will this be the story Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett end up going with? Fans will have to wait and see. But after previous entries commented on horror movies, sequels, trilogies, and reboots, it feels like the perfect way to bring it all full circle.

Fans Are Not Impressed With Future’s Birthday Shoutout To His Son With Ciara In Comparison To Russell Wilson’s

Ever since Russell Wilson began his relationship with Ciara, he’s taken an active parenting role in helping to raise her son from a previous relationship. Prior to getting serious with Ciara, Wilson’s mother had a heart to heart with her son to ensure he understood the responsibility of what it takes to be a present stepfather, and Wilson has surely lived up to the role.

Though Ciara’s ex, rapper Future, does have a relationship with their son, there have been very public co-parenting issues between Future and Ciara, and fans have long felt that Wilson was a better role model for his stepson than Future.

This proved to be the case after both men took to social media to wish Baby Future a happy birthday. While both men’s messages to their beloved son were lovely, fans believed Wilson’s to be more heartfelt and expressed such online.

Future and Russell Wilson wish Little Future a Happy Birthday

Wilson has been in Baby Future’s life since he was just a few months old. Within six months of his relationship with Ciara, he proposed and they married a few months later. The two have since welcomed a daughter together and Ciara is currently pregnant with their third child – but Wilson has committed to treat Baby Future as his own child.

Baby Future recently turned six years old and Ciara gave her son a special birthday shoutout on Instagram but posting a video of her giving him six big kisses for his big day.

Wilson followed suit with a touching video of precious moments featuring him with his stepson. The video showed Wilson and Baby Future diving into their home pool and swimming together from one side end of the pool to the next. Wilson beautifully captioned the video in part:

“You are my daily inspiration. My best friend…Full of Love, Joy, and Grace. I thank Jesus everyday for who you are & being able to lead & guide you.”

Baby Future has been heard affectionately calling Wilson “Papa Russ.” Wilson famously spoke of his love for Baby Future to BuzzFeed in 2019, saying,

The thing that I’ve learned the most is that being a stepdad and then also having our little daughter as well, being a stepdad, you really find out what love’s like. It’s interesting. It’s easy to love somebody that’s blood and everything else, but when you can love somebody just like it’s your own child and everything else, that’s what real love is like.

Future made sure not to miss out on publicly acknowledging his son’s birthday with a tweet writing, “Happy Birthday FUTURE. Love u FOREVER twin.”

Fans clown Future’s birthday wish to his son in comparison to Russell Wilson’s

There were some fans who took offense to Wilson referring to Baby Future as his son, though the overwhelming majority of social media users are in love with the way Wilson loves his stepson and find it commendable.

“@DangeRussWilson @ciara Happy Birthday Future! The way Russell loves him is amazing glory be to God blessing this child with love,” one wrote on Twitter.

Others feel that Wilson is the better parent and that Future’s birthday wish for his son fell flat.

“Russell Wilson continues to do Future job as a parent better than him and instead of improving, he recruits his stans to troll that man and Ciara on the internet whenever he drops a new project,” wrote another.

“The fact that the stepdaddy had a more deep, loving, and sentimental Happy Birthday message than the birth father,” one wrote on Instagram.

“Russell shows the difference between a father and a dad,” wrote another.

Luckily, Baby Future has three involved parents in his life and that’s truly all that matters!

A woman named Kimberly Alexander claims Tristan Thompson is the father of her son

In early January, an Instagram model named Kimberly Alexander came forward to accuse Thompson of fathering her son. In response to the accusation, the Cleveland Cavaliers player took a DNA test which came back negative. However, Alexander did not drop the issue.

She claimed that Thompson and Kardashian falsified the results and wants another DNA test. Now, Alexander is being sued for libel.

A reputable, accredited DNA lab approved by her own lawyers has conclusively determined that Thompson is not the father of Alexander’s child. Alexander has persisted in publicly proclaiming that Thompson is her child’s father.”

Thompson is allegedly seeking damages to prove a point and to deter this type of content in the future.

Fred Willard appeared on ABC’s award-winning comedy series, ‘Modern Family’

The West Wing fans convinced show predicted coronavirus with ‘chilling’ scene about global pandemics and failed vaccines

THE West Wing fans are convinced the show predicted coronavirus with a ‘chilling’ scene about global pandemics and failed vaccines.

The hit NBC series aired from 1999 until 2006, and fans who are rewatching the show have been left freaked out by an episode from season five.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

Called The Crackpots and These Women, the episode saw the character Josh Lyman (Bradley Whitford) discuss a scenario where a deadly virus wipes out the population with CJ Cregg (Allison Janney).

Josh tells his colleague it won't be a nuclear war that will strike next, saying: "It’s not gonna be the red phone and nuclear bombs.

"It’s gonna be something like this. Smallpox has been gone for 50 years, no one has an acquired immunity, it flies through the air.

"You get it, you carry a 10ft cloud around with you. One in three people die.

"If 100 people in New York City got it you’d have to encircle them with 100 million vaccinated people to contain it.

"Do you know how many doses of smallpox vaccine exist in the country? Seven.

"If 100 people in New York City get it there’s going to be a global medical emergency that’s going to make HIV look like cold and flu season."

Viewers couldn't help but compare his words to the current coronavirus pandemic, which has seen thousands die across the globe and many countries placing its population in lockdown.

Taking to Twitter, one fan of the series wrote: "The West Wing season 1 episode 5 talks about the weaponization of viruses (in this case Smallpox). Really his home with the Coronavirus pandemic we face now."

Another added: "Decided to rewatch West Wing and got to "The Crackpots and These Women" and damn if Josh Lyman isn't talking about smallpox but sounds like Covid."

A fellow viewer tweeted: "I just watched season 1 episode 5 of The West Wing. One of the themes of the episode was Small Pox and the limited number of vaccines in our stockpile.. just thought it was ironic considering where we are today."

Marvel Fans Are Reminding Each Other Not to Harass the Actors Who Don't Fit Their Fancasts

It wasn’t so long ago that if someone said “fan,” the image that came up was someone with a room full of toys, posters and other memorabilia waxing nostalgically about their favorite thing, be it Marvel, Star Wars, or just about anything.

In more recent years, if someone says “fan” they picture someone living in their parents’ basement, angrily tapping at a keyboard about how The Last Jedi ruined everything or demanding that they cast this or that actor or they won’t watch this or that movie.

Some think fans have become a group that are never happy unless they’re unhappy. But a group of fans is calling for a truce regarding fan casting.

Fans initial reactions to movie news have missed the mark

Fans getting up in arms about movie news is nothing new. And fans being misguided in their judgment is also not new. Fans protested when they heard Michael Keaton was going to be Batman in 1989.

The movie was still a huge hit.  They protested when they heard Heath Ledger was the Joker. All wrong, they said. Ledger was on Oscar posthumously and the movie was a huge hit.

It goes the other way too. Sometimes fans are so convinced something will be the greatest thing ever, it takes them several viewings for them to figure out why they didn’t like it. Case in point: The Phantom Menace. Reaction to the trailer in the late 90s was through the roof in a good way. People couldn’t wait to see it.

Then when they did, they were confused as to why it wasn’t the Best Movie Ever. Its repeat viewings came not only from audiences eager to see a new Star Wars movie for the first time in 16 years, but from people trying to understand what went wrong.

It all seemed to come to a head in 2017 with the release of The Last Jedi. That movie divided fandom deeply to the point that director Rian Johnson received death threats. That frenzy, fairly or unfairly, painted Star Wars as the ultimate example of fandom gone sour.

Did fandom only recently become toxic?

Everywhere you looked in the late 2010s, there was a story of Star Wars fans causing upset. If it wasn’t Daisy Ridley being chased off social media, it was Kelly Marie tran being chased off social media. Old stories circulated about how Jake Lloyd, who played Anakin in Phantom Menace, and Ahmed Best, who played Jar-Jar Binks, were driven to thoughts of suicide by the relentless negativity.

It isn’t just movie fans either. An analysis by Now Magazine centered around negativity regarding singer Ariana Grande.

They wrote, “You could say this has been a long time coming. In the past decade, fandom has emerged as an unparalleled force in mainstream culture. Just look at how corporate overlords at Marvel and Star Wars thrust their stars through the ComiCon gauntlet. Fans are no longer on the sidelines, but full-fledged participants in the ways studios and labels are packaging and distributing their media products.”

Marvel fandom is hardly immune to such complaints. Brie Larson in particular, often seems to bring out aggressive fans who accuse her of being a social justice warrior or just flat-out unlikeable.

Marvel fans on Reddit forums are demanding that only Charlie Cox can be Daredevil and that’s just that. But now one Reddit forum is calling for a cease-fire regarding fan casting.

What are Marvel fans asking regarding casting?

In this forum, the topic-starter writes about fans’ demands that John Krasinski and Emily Blunt be cast as Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman in the MCU’s eventual reboot of the Fantastic Four. Krasinsksi and Blunt or no one, some say.

But the topic starter writes “As I have borne witness to this sub’s fixation with John Krasinski and Emily Blunt being cast as Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman, respectively, over the years, I have become increasingly concerned that, if, ultimately, either or both of these actors aren’t cast as those characters, then whichever actors are cast as them are going to get bullied.” The fan said this should not be allowed to happen.

Another fan thought the request should be less specific. They took the phrase “Pledge not to bully the actors who get cast as Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman if John Krasinski and Emily blunt don’t. People and highlighted the words “pledge not to bully people.” Period.

With any luck, fandom is turning a corner. A recent suggestion that Rian Johnson could direct an Avengers movie was not met with overt hostility. Perhaps the pandemic, a much more serious problem by any reasonable measure, could help fans get some perspective. There are worse things than miscast actors and missed released dates.

Friends fans convinced Monica and Chandler’s marriage was predicted by Ben way back in season 3 – The Sun

AVID fans of long-running sitcom Friends are convinced Monica and Chandler's marriage was predicted by baby Ben way back in season 3.

The programme's popularity means that repeat episodes are easily found on several channels, and fans can't get enough of this discovery.

In the episode titled 'The One With The Giant Poking Device' from season 3, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) is looking after Ross' son Ben.

When she fails to keep him amused, Monica (Courteney Cox) takes over and throws him in the air – seconds later hitting his head on the loft rafters.

Cue the toddler repeating the phrase "Monica bang" much to the pair's distress.

But now years later fans are asking if he was in fact saying "Monica Bing" – Chandler's surname and who Monica ends up marrying in season 7.

One fan wrote on Reddit: "I ended up watching S03E08 (TOW the giant poking device) again today and I remembered how when the first time I watched it I thought Ben said, "Monica Bing!" Anyone else think that? Ben predicting the future maybe? :P."

Another added: "He definitely predicted the future."

"When I was younger I had saw the episodes out of order so I was like "yeah, that's close to her last name, why are they freaking out?", said one.

Friends enthusiasts are currently looking forward to a reunion of all key cast members, who also include Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

The highly anticipated reunion was first confirmed earlier in 2020 but the coronavirus pandemic has forced production on all TV shows to come to a standstill.

Producers recently insisted the cast is likely to be able to film "at the end of the summer" but sources believe it may not be until next year due to the stars' busy schedules.

Some Fans Worry the MCU is About to Introduce Too Many New Characters

Some people could never blame Gwyneth Paltrow completely for not being able to keep up with all the MCU characters and plots. While ardent fans tore into her for not doing her homework while playing Pepper Potts, it really is like reading a mile-long who’s-who list keeping up with every Marvel character.

Now with some original Avengers killed off or off to the side at the moment, Marvel is going to introduce some all-new superheroes. A few fans are getting a little worried too many new characters are being introduced too fast.

Is there a good argument made here the MCU is taking major risks with a large group of new characters? Even Kevin Feige said it was risky a while back when discussing The Eternals.

Why fans think the MCU might mess up with too many new superheroes

Reddit fans are doing more deep-dives recently about what the future of the MCU holds. A thread there recently noted adding more characters to the existing Avengers mix might not work as well as advertised.

One reason for that is the possible new Avenger leaders (Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch) still need more character development in their own movies. Of course, this is already going to be happening thanks to Disney+’s WandaVision, plus an upcoming Dr. Strange movie sequel.

Within a year, though, more characters will be added to the fray, including The Eternals, and Shang Chi. In addition to them, The Fantastic Four might be soon rebooted, not including adding new MCU versions of the X-Men.

If one can argue the latter characters will never see light of day until Phase Five, adding a large ensemble in one movie might cause fans to feel a little overwhelmed.

What did Kevin Feige once say about ‘The Eternals’?

Some might remember back to when Feige noted to SYFY Wire that The Eternals as being the MCU’s biggest risk to date. Having him admit to this was eye-opening, if still noting the risk being worth it. Since the film tackles a large swath of history, it might feel like a standalone film anyway for a while.

Nevertheless, the film does have a large roster of new characters everyone has to remember. According to Inverse, about 10 new characters are in the movie, based off the legendary comic book stories. This is more characters than what everyone saw on-screen when the MCU first began.

Over time, though, fans have grown accustomed to the expanding cast list and keeping track of what happened to each superhero. When the Endgame finale occurred, media analysts had to create lists to keep track of who died and who was still alive.

What makes the upcoming larger character roster more interesting is Feige said (in the above interview) many characters getting movies now were supposed to be introduced earlier.

The plan to juggle multiple MCU characters was apparently in place all along

With the above Feige comment, Marvel perhaps never felt threatened about having to give character development to dozens of characters at once. They might figure the most loyal fans are up to the challenge of learning about multiple characters without feeling confused.

More casual fans might not feel the same way. If going by the above Reddit thread, not all fans are on board without giving some serious exploration of existing Avengers first.

At least this is the obvious plan over the next couple of years, with many fans on social media saying they trust Feige’s judgment. By now, most people know he has the magic touch when it comes to story.

Besides, with Disney+ shows soon available, a lot of characters can be introduced or developed between two different platforms. This is already a game-changer, if streaming becoming more of the dominant force for a while in the age of COVID-19.

Kardashian Fans Are Glad Jordyn Woods Left Her 'Unhealthy' Friendship With Kylie Jenner

It has been a little over one year since Jordyn Woods had her famous falling out with the Kardashian-Jenner family, in the wake of the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal. The social media influencer and model has gone on to create her own way in the world, working with various brands and making her own money.

Still, Kardashian-Jenner fans can’t help but reflect on all the details of the Woods-Jenner friendship, and in a recent Reddit thread, those fans discussed why it might have actually been a good thing that Jordyn Woods finally “broke free” of the famous family.

When did Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods become friends?

Kylie Jenner’s friendship with Jordyn Woods began years ago, long before Jenner founded her ultra-successful cosmetics empire. In fact, the two first met in 2012, reportedly through mutual friend Jaden Smith. Over the next few years, Woods and Jenner grew closer and closer, with Woods making frequent appearances on Jenner’s social media pages.

Soon, Woods became a regular guest at Jenner’s fan events and was often seen at parties and fashion shows, sitting alongside Kylie Jenner. She landed modeling gigs on the basis of her high-profile friendship with Jenner and even modeled for Jenner’s cosmetics company.

In 2017, Woods starred as a frequent guest on Kylie Jenner’s short-lived reality show, Life of Kylie. At some point, Woods moved in with Jenner, taking up residence on her palatial Calabasas estate. For all intents and purposes, theirs was a friendship that would last forever – sadly, it wasn’t to last.

Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods stopped speaking after the cheating scandal

In February 2019, multiple news outlets reported that Khloé Kardashian’s boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, had been spotted getting intimate with Jordyn Woods at a late-night party. In the days that followed, Woods admitted to kissing the NBA pro but denied that it had ever gone further than that. Still, the damage had been done. In short order, Woods was moved out of Jenner’s home and the family unfollowed her on social media.

Jordyn Woods has since apologized for her role in the scandal but has stated that she has moved on with her life. The Kardashian family still rehashes the scandal for the benefit of their reality show, although when it comes to Kylie Jenner, it certainly seems as though the former friends have completely stopped talking.

In fact, several reports claim that Woods and Jenner aren’t in touch at all and that they are both just focused on their individual careers.

Fans believe that Jordyn Woods had an ‘unhealthy’ friendship with Kylie Jenner

During the course of their friendship, it certainly seemed as though Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods fully supported each other and were the very best of friends. Woods appeared to benefit from Jenner’s superstar status and often took luxurious vacations with the lip kit maven.

It is certain that Jenner showered her bestie with all sorts of expensive gifts. Still, many fans believe that their friendship wasn’t exactly healthy.

In a recent Reddit thread, fans discussed the Woods-Jenner friendship, and many concluded that their relationship “was so unhealthy.” A few posters categorized their friendship as “exhaustingly codependent” and that it seemed as though Jenner could have put Woods in the position of depending on her “generosity.”

Some posters stated that Jenner seemed to want Woods to stay in the shadows and that, ultimately, it is for the best that Woods broke away from Jenner and the rest of her famous family. Certainly, on her own, Woods is free to pursue her own opportunities and business deals — although she could still be missing her longtime friend.

'Counting On' Fans Slam Joy Duggar's Parenting After Posting a Photo Of Her Son Standing on a Bar Stool

Duggar and Forsyth love doting on him, and they often share adorable photos of their little boy to social media. But Duggar’s recent post, which showed Gideon standing at the edge of a bar stool, had some fans in disbelief.

Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth have an adorable little family

When Duggar and Forsyth wed back in 2017, some fans hadmixed feelings about them. There were concerns that theirmarriage was arranged, as Jim Bob Duggar always seemed to have a hand in hiskids meeting their spouses. But over the years, people have grown to love thedynamic between Duggar and Forsyth.

The two welcomed Gideon last year, and fans have loved to see how much Forsyth connects with his son. Duggar and Forsyth also work hard on remodeling homes together, and they don’t abide by the traditional gender roles quite as much as other family members.

Duggar and Forsyth love bonding with their son

When it comes to social media, Duggar and Forsyth tend to post photos of either each other, their work, or their son. And fans always love to see the bond the parents have with their little boy. When Duggar was giving fans a tour of the couple’s new home, Forsyth was playing with Gideon, and fans were loving it. Forsyth also loves showing Gideon the work the two do on remodeling homes. Plus, Duggar recently posted a car selfie with her little boy, and he was all smiles.

Duggar’s recent photo of Gideon had some fans concerned

Duggar recently posted a photo of Gideon standing on top of a bar stool and pouring a jug of milk on the counter. Though the photo looked funny, it was also concerning for some fans, in part because he’s on the edge of a bar stool and also because she’s allowing him to pour out the milk. “I feel like it’s all for show. Why let a toddler stand that close to the edge of the stool as well?” one user asked. “Why would you video your kid doing this?” another person questioned. Duggar responded, “He had already poured out most of the jug so why not?”

“This is giving me anxiety,” one person posted to Reddit, referring to Gideon standing on the stool. “This is no joke Duggars. Kids don’t have proper balance at this age,” someone else added.
