The untold truth of Mohamed and Danielle from 90 Day Fiance

Danielle Jbali (née Mullins) and Mohamed Jbali are one of the classic OG 90 Day Fiancé couples. They appeared in Season 2 of the show in 2014, then again on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After in 2016 and 2017. The couple originally met in an online chatroom when Danielle was living in Sandusky, Ohio, and Mohamed was living in Tunisia. Mohamed moved to Ohio and married Danielle, but their 90 days of engagement were incredibly rocky, and things definitely didn’t improve after the wedding. In fact, they only went downhill from there. Let’s just say the cops got involved multiple times, and their fights were among the all-time cringiest on 90 Day Fiancé.

Several years post-wedding, Danielle and Mohamed are now divorced and living separate lives. But what really happened to this fairy-tale-gone-wrong? Let’s dive into Danielle and Mohamed’s history both before and after their time as 90 Day Fiancé stars.

Danielle and Mohamed's relationship was always turbulent

Soon after Mohamed Jbali touched down in Ohio to be with his new then-fiancé Danielle Mullins, things started to go awry. Their 90 days together were filled with drama as both Mohamed and Danielle began to uncover lies. Mohamed found out that Danielle had an unexpected amount of financial troubles, while Danielle discovered that Mohamed had lied about having a job (via The Cinemaholic).

Despite all of this, they went ahead and got married before Mohamed’s 90-day visa expired, but the drama continued after the wedding. Jbali called the police on his wife various times for opening an account in his name, destroying his clothes, and stealing money from him, per Radar Online.

In 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Mohamed revealed that he’d never been attracted to Danielle. The revelation wasn’t exactly surprising to fans, considering he famously refused to kiss her at their wedding. At the reunion show in 2016, he even accused her of having hygiene issues and peeing on him (yes, really), saying that was why he stopped being intimate with her. Danielle later responded to this, and other, accusations on Facebook, explaining that she “takes a shower every day” and was having “issues with my periods” at the time.

Mohamed left Danielle after he got his green card

Danielle and Mohamed Jbali’s marriage didn’t last long. Mohamed reportedly left Danielle and moved to Miami just two months after he got his green card, according to E! News.

On Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Danielle tried her best to get her ex-husband kicked out of the country. First, she attempted to annul the marriage. After he convinced her not to go through with it, she went to Miami to confront him, accusing him of infidelity and threatening deportation. “I felt used, so I filed for an annulment. That was my best chance to get him deported,” Danielle said on the show. “But when he begged me to file for a divorce instead, I gave in so he could stay in America.”

Danielle claimed that she paid for the K-1 visa process, the wedding, and the divorce, per Cosmopolitan. Apparently, Mohamed promised to repay her, but Danielle says that never happened. According to Radar Online, she sued Mohamed for fraud for $12,500 in September 2017. The court papers read, “Defendant committed fraud against Plaintiff by luring Plaintiff into a romantic relationship to secure funds and immigration status.”

Mohamed is still living and working in the United States

Danielle and Mohamed Jbali’s divorce was finalized in 2017, and Mohamed was allowed to remain in the country, per E! NewsAfter living in Miami, Austin, and Chicago, he’s now settled in Indianapolis, according to his Instagram page. He has a dog — an Akita named Bowie — and he’s an avid photographer (via Cosmopolitan). He often shares photos of his cooking, travels, and life. At one point, he started a YouTube channel with videos about how to make money and follow your passion, but he hasn’t updated it since 2019.

In December 2019, Mohamed announced his plans to start traveling full-time as a truck driver, per In Touch Weekly. “Me and this guy are about to become homeless soon!” he said in a since-deleted posted that featured a photo of his dog. “Not that we have no place to stay, but we choose to go after big money so we gonna give up on everything and be on the road driving an 18 wheeler and help America transport food and other important things to stay great.”

Mohamed has continued to post about his life on the road with Bowie, often alongside inspirational captions. In one photo of his dog in the truck, he shared his take on COVID-19: “We live in quarantine with or without you Corona!” Commenters thanked Mohamed for continuing to deliver supplies through the crisis.

Danielle moved on from the 90 Day Fiance mess

Mohamed Jbali may have been the one to break things off, but it didn’t take Danielle Jbali too long to move on, either. As of 2019, she’d started dating someone that she met while she was with Mohamed. “He had reached out to me and Mohamed both during our first season of 90 Day Fiancé. We stayed in contact after me and Mohamed split. He was there for me and my kids after Mohamed left,” she told InTouch.

However, it seems that things haven’t been entirely smooth for Danielle since the divorce. In 2018, reality TV blog The Ashleys reported that she’d asked her Facebook friends for financial help and started a GoFundMe, which has since been deactivated. She reportedly works as a home health aide.

Danielle continues to share updates about her life on social media, and she got a makeover in a follow-up episode called 90 Day Fiancé: What Now? She often shares photos of her grandkids and promotes various products on her Instagram page. Since she hasn’t posted about a boyfriend in some time, it’s unclear if she’s still in a relationship. She still uses her ex-husband’s last name.

Danielle will appear on 90 Day Fiance: Self Quarantined alongside more than 40 other cast members. It premieres April 20, 2020.
